Equipment for Computer Training Facility

In 2000, Hong Bang provided $5,000 to furnish ten computers and printer for a computer training facility in Trang Bang, a community west of HCMC. The facility is part of the local high school that would incorporate a computer literacy program into its curriculum. In the summer of 2001, one of our OVs traveled there to give seminars on networking and HTML basics.

In December 2006, Hong Bang provided funds for Hai Hau, a coastal fishing town in northern Vietnam that is economically and geographically isolated and subjected to typhoons and severe flooding. The funds were used to purchase a voltage generator and a photocopier for the community computer center. In July 2006, we sent a volunteer, a computer engineer, to conduct computer training workshops in this community. In July 2007, the same volunteer returned to conduct more training workshops to ensure continuity in training.
