The Cow Project

The Cow Project is a program that affords rural farmers with an opportunity to complement their income through dairy farming. The program is designed to promote thrift savings, generate productive employment, and strengthen bonds within the community. Participating family heads receive start-up material assistance, technical assistance, and training in budgeting and basics of finance. Since 2004, Hong Bang has seeded over $5,000 for the project to date, which has generated over 35 cows in rural communities.

Water Pond Project

In November 2008, Hong Bang contributed funds to a community in Nam Dinh province in north Vietnam to build a pond to catch and store rainwater. This pond will provide drinking water for the community’s livestock, which in turn will help generate income for the community through beef and milk sales.
